FAQ - General

How far will you travel?

I am based just outside Manchester but will travel anywhere to cover your requirements. There may be additional costs if an overnight stay is required, or for long distance travel.

Are you insured?

I have full insurance and can provide the certificate if this is required for specific venues.

FAQ - Weddings

What is your approach?

I approach my wedding photography with a documentary style (also sometimes called candid or reportage). This type of photography is all about telling a story, the story of your wedding day. For most of the wedding you shouldn’t really notice me.  I won’t spend the day directing you, this is your day to enjoy with your family and friends. It is my job to anticipate and capture the special, funny, emotional moments for you to continue to enjoy into the future.

Do you take formal group shots and couple shots?

My style is overwhelmingly documentary – capturing the moments other people don’t always notice.  However, I understand that there is nearly always a requirement for some more formal photographs. I try to keep these to a minimum and sometimes at different times in the day so that no-one feels they are constantly hanging around waiting for their picture to be taken.  Besides, this is one of the biggest parties you will ever throw – you don’t want to miss it.

How long will you be there?

If you book my full day package there will be no set hours.  I will arrive as you are starting to get ready and will not leave until it feels like I have captured the party (but before it gets too messy), I will stay around for a while after the first dance to capture the evening fun.

Do you shoot both colour and black & white?

I generally shoot a mixture of both.

How many images will we receive?

Because of style there is not a set number of images, but for a full days wedding photography you will usually receive at least 400 fully edited images.

How can I use the images?

You will receive a full set of high resolution images along with images specifically sized for for sharing on web based social media.

If you want high quality art prints or luxury album please see additional options available in the pricing section.

What preparations will you make for my wedding?

As part of the booking form process I will include a questionnaire for you to complete to cover all the details of the day (venues, timings, formal shots).  We can also go through all these details when we meet. Dependent on the distance to the venue I will always try my best to make a venue visit prior to the day so that I can familiarise myself with the environs.

How do we book?

Just call or email me at any time, or use the contact form on the website and I will check availability. Once we have made contact we can arrange a suitable time to meet, either at your home or the wedding venue, or another venue if you prefer.  I require a completed and signed contract and a non-refundable deposit of 20% of the agreed package to secure my services for your wedding date. I cannot hold dates without the form and fee. The remainder of the balance is due 7 days before the wedding date.

When do we receive our images?

It is important to me that I deliver the very best version of all your images.  I will usually try and get a few images to you within a few days for you to share with your family and friends.  The full set of your digital images will be ready within 6 weeks of your wedding.

Do you shoot other events?

Yes. If you want a couples shoot, christening, family or even your pets please get in touch and we can talk about your requirements.
